Hi, I’m Ashley. Nice to meet you!
I help high-achieving, meaning-driven professionals heal from relational trauma, burnout, and anxiety.
In-person in Ashland ❊ Online across Virginia ❊ Therapy, speaking, and consulting services
My approach is collaborative, personalized, and rooted in both clinical expertise and real-world leadership experience.
I integrate Attachment-Focused EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) with elements of ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and IFS (Internal Family Systems, or “parts work”) to create a deeply relational, client-centered experience. I’m proud to provide an affirming space and practice from an antiracist framework.
I hold an M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from William & Mary (summa cum laude) and was named an Emerging Leader by the Virginia Counselors Association (2022). I am a licensed Resident in Counseling in Virginia and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). My graduate training included work with Westhampton Family Psychologists in Richmond, where I provided trauma therapy for teens and adults. I received EMDR training through Trauma Recovery/HAP and certification in Trauma Tapping Technique from the Peaceful Heart Network. I am actively working toward EMDRIA certification and Gottman Method training.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent over a decade in nonprofit and corporate leadership — including serving as Vice President of Marketing at The National Theatre in Washington, D.C. — and held multiple board roles in arts, tourism, and community engagement. I hold a B.A. in Business Management (magna cum laude) from Hood College and an M.F.A. in Performing Arts Management (summa cum laude) from Brooklyn College, where my residency at The Public Theater included work on the original marketing team for Hamilton. My thesis on social capital has informed my work across arts marketing, nonprofit leadership, and now therapy.
I’m a proud member of the Leadership Metro Richmond Class of 2024. I have a passion for group therapy and recently completed my term on the board of the Virginia Association for Specialists in Group Work (VASGW). I volunteer as a group counseling facilitator with Comfort Zone Camp, a nonprofit bereavement organization supporting children and teens who have lost a parent or sibling.
I live in Richmond with my daughter and two very fluffy cats. My free time is spent pursuing as much joy as possible — reading, traveling, and trying out more creative hobbies than I can name. I look forward to getting to know you and supporting your path toward healing and growth.
